It is important to properly lubricate your firearm. This will reduce friction between moving parts. Lubrication lowers the friction coefficient between moving metal-on-metal components to provide smooth operation and to reduce wear. Firearms typically use one or two types of lubricant (oil or grease) as recommended by the firearm manufacturer.

This image shows the proper lubrication points for most handguns. Lubricate each point sparingly. Please consult your firearm manufacturer any lubrication or cleaning of the firearm.
